The story of Early Bird School is one of humble beginnings, unwavering dedication, and a vision to shape the future through quality early education. It all began on June 19, 2019, in Karapitiya, Galle, with just a few children in our care. We started as a daycare, providing a safe and loving environment where children could flourish. Though our beginnings were small, we were driven by the belief that early childhood is the foundation upon which lifelong learning and success are built.
In September 2019, the journey evolved as we introduced our first kindergarten and preschool classes. With this expansion, we focused on nurturing young minds, encouraging creativity, and fostering English-speaking skills to prepare children for a bright academic future. Our commitment to excellence began attracting more families, and our small daycare transformed into a vibrant learning community.
By 2024, the success of our Karapitiya branch, which grew to 9 thriving classes and over 170 students, inspired us to expand further. In September 2024, we proudly opened the doors to our second branch in the beautiful town of Hikkaduwa. This new chapter in our story marked another significant milestone in our mission to reach more children and provide them with opportunities to grow in a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment.

Marked a new chapter in our successful story in the 3rd year of Early Birds School
Early Birds School is more than just a place for learning. We believe that childhood is a time for exploration, joy, and cultural connection. From the very beginning, we integrated celebrations, experiences, and traditions into our educational philosophy. Our New Year festivals, annual concerts, Christmas parties, and SIL observances for Vesak and Poya days became highlights of our school calendar, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
We also introduced unique programs that make learning fun and meaningful. Pajama nights, summer and winter camps, and engaging field trips encouraged children to develop their curiosity and love for adventure. Social responsibility is another cornerstone of our values. Together with our children, we’ve organized donation drives, visited elders’ homes, and participated in beach clean-ups, teaching them the importance of empathy and community care.
This journey would not have been possible without the dedication of our teachers and staff, the trust of our families, and the boundless enthusiasm of our students. We have grown into a family—a close-knit community that supports each child’s unique potential and celebrates their milestones as our own.
As we look back on our journey, from those early days in 2019 to the bustling, joyous campuses of today, we are filled with gratitude and pride. The story of Early Bird School is a testament to what can be achieved with passion, perseverance, and a shared vision. We are excited about the future and the many more milestones we will achieve together.
